SUGARLOAF PIPELINE INFORMATION SESSIONS COMMENCE

Two of five planned community information sessions along the potential Sugarloaf Pipeline corridor will take place tomorrow, Sugarloaf Pipeline Project Director Rod Clifford said today.

Mr Clifford said the sessions, commencing in Toolangi and Kinglake tomorrow, were a further opportunity for members of the community to discuss the Sugarloaf Pipeline project with members of the project team, including engineers and designers.

“These sessions are informal, drop-in events that will be open for three hours, providing members of the community with an opportunity to meet with key project team members and talk about any questions or concerns they may have.

“Sessions in Toolangi and Kinglake will take place tomorrow, and will be followed by further sessions in Yea, Glenburn and Yarra Glen over the next week, to give as many people as possible the opportunity to come along without having to travel too far.”

Mr Clifford said the sessions followed a number of individual landowner discussions along the pipeline corridor and the commencement of environmental, flora, fauna and cultural heritage surveys as well as geotechnical investigations, on public and private land.

“The feedback we have received both through these individual discussions, as well as previous information sessions and those to be held over the next week, will be vital to ensuring the best possible outcome for this project.

‘We therefore encourage everybody to come along as we continue with works to finalise a pipeline alignment over the next couple of months.”
