STORAGES 36.8% FULL

Melbourne’s water storages are 36.8% (653,191 million litres) full today after dropping 0.4% (6,070 million litres) through the week. Storages are now holding around 17 billion litres more water than at the same time last year, when they were at 35.9% (636,441 million litres)

Some reasonable rainfall totals were recorded across Melbourne’s four major catchments this week, with the lowest total 21.6mm at the Upper Yarra reservoir and the highest 38.4mm at Thomson.

With stage 3a restrictions in place until June 30 2008, average daily consumption over the week remained well below the summer daily average, at 1124 million litres.
