Melburnians continue saving water

Melbourne’s water storages are today 22 billion litres higher than at the same time last year, at 33.5% (593,783 million litres) full.

The storages fell 7,960 million litres (0.45%) through the week. At the same time last year, water storages were 32.2% (571,361 million litres) full.

Consumption this week was 1,062 million litres per day, 20 million litres less than the same time last year (1,082million litres per day) and well below the 5 year autumn average of 1,207 million litres per day.

The figures show Melburnian’s are continuing to do a great job saving water.

Stage 3a restrictions remain in place until 30 June 2008.
