AUTUMN RAINS NEEDED TO BOOST STORAGES
The dry weather continued this week with no rainfall recorded over the catchments. As a result storages have dropped by 0.47% (8,292 million litres).
Melbourne’s water storages are now 31.7% full (562,715 million litres).
At the same time last year, water storages were 30.4% full (539,386 million litres).
The average daily water usage for the week was 1,077 million litres. This is 17% less than the 1990’s autumn average of 1,294 million litres demonstrating Melbournian’s are still being careful with their water use.
Stage 3a restrictions remain in place until at least 30 June, 2008. Further details on water restrictions are available by visiting the Our Water Our Future website or by contacting the government water retailers.
