STORAGES 30.7% FULL

Melbourne’s water storages are now 30.7% full (544,588 million litres) compared to 29.3% full (518,915 million litres) for the same time last year.

There is 26 billion litres more water in storage than the same time last year.

There was no rainfall in the catchments this week. However Melburnians daily consumption has remained very low. The average daily water usage for the week was 997 million litres. This is 23% less than the 1990’s autumn average of 1,294 million litres.

This, combined with cooler weather helped keep the drop in storage levels to 0.39% (6,981 million litres).

Stage 3a restrictions remain in place until at least 30 June, 2008. Further details on water restrictions are available by visiting the Our Water Our Future website or by contacting the government water retailers.
