Search all Melbourne Water web sites
Search for
Type your query in the text box under the Search for heading. Your query can be a word, phrase, question, file name, or other set of characters. Your query can be up to 255 characters long.
Advanced Search
By default, Search looks for Melbourne Water information in the web site you are currently in. If you would like to include additional sites, click Advanced Search to go to the Advanced Search page.

Type your query in the text box under the Search for heading. Your query can be a word, phrase, question, file name, or other set of characters. Your query can be up to 255 characters long.
Confine your search to specific Melbourne Water sites
In addition to choosing the type of search you want to perform, you can select a category of Melbourne water content to target by selecting and/or clearing the check box in front of the site. For example, if you are a searching for Yarra River information, then searching only the Our Yarra and Main web sites will be more efficient and return a more targetted result.
The following is an overview of the information covered in each site:
- Main web site. All about Melbourne Water and its operations including information on storage levels, current projects, waterways health and a heap of useful publications.
- Conserve water. Useful tips on saving water including a Waterwise Wizard and a section on planting a Waterwise garden.
- Living with Drought. How the Melbourne Water industry is planning for the future. Learn more about the effects of drought and what we''re doing in response to it.
- Education. A crucial resource for teachers with information on educational tours, interactive games and a stack of water-related material.
- The Source. Melbourne Water's online magazine. Learn about all sorts of water-related projects going on around the city. Subscribe to be notified online.
- Frog Census. We're keeping tabs on frogs around Melbourne as they provide a good indicator as to the health of our waterways.
- WSUD. Water cycle management is an important consideration for urban development that contributes to an ecologically sustainable city. Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) is about integration of water cycle management into urban planning and design.
- Land Development Manual. The Melbourne Water Land Development Manual sets out information about general requirements to be complied with by Developers when providing Melbourne Water's drainage facilities to new subdivisions and developments. The Manual therefore forms a key interface between the Land Development Industry and Melbourne Water .
- Our Yarra. Information on the condition of rivers and creeks in the Yarra catchment, and suggestions for ways you can help improve the health of your local waterway.
- STORM. Melbourne Water has developed the Stormwater Treatment Objective- Relative Measure (STORM) Calculator as a method of simplifying the analysis of stormwater treatment methods. The STORM Calculator is designed for the general public to easily assess Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) measures on their property.
- Grants. Melbourne Water’s and the Port Phillip and Westernport Catchment Management Authority’s (PPWPCMA) grants programs support the community and local government to improve the health of land, biodiversity, waterways and bays in the Port Phillip and Westernport region. Our integrated grants process provides a single application procedure for interested groups to access funds.
- Northern Sewerage Project. The Northern Sewerage Project (NSP) involves the construction of 13 km of new sewer from Reservoir to Pascoe Vale and is a $650 million investment in Melbourne's future.
- Melbourne Main. The Melbourne Main Sewer Replacement is a $220 million investment by the State Government that will deliver health and environmental benefits to meet the future growth of Melbourne.

Search Results
Best Bets results for
The list of titles that appear under Best Bets results for term are links to content that Melbourne Water considers to be especially relevant to your search. The Best Bets include links to a range of content that might otherwise be overlooked in the full set of Search results.
1 to 10 of 100 Results
By default, Search returns a maximum of 100 results, even if more matches are found. It displays the results in groups of 10 spread across 10 separate Web pages. This heading indicates your location in the list of results.

Type your query in the text box under the Search for heading. Your query can be a word, phrase, question, file name, or other set of characters. Your query can be up to 255 characters long.
Advanced Search
By default, Search looks for Melbourne Water information across all of Melbourne Water's web sites. If you would like to restrict your search to one or more sites, click Advanced Search to go to the Advanced Search page.

Search within results
As Search returns up to 100 results, it can be challenging to read through the titles and descriptions of all the items. To narrow the search results, you can conduct another search within the results displayed. Type the keywords into the text box (separated by commas or spaces under the Search within results heading found in the toolkit on the right-side of the page. You can repeat the process as many times as needed until you have the result set that meets your requirements.
Although your initial query may have returned up to 100 items, remember that the actual number of items matching your query could have been much larger. When you Search within results, Search looks at the larger set of initial matches and finds all pages that match the new words you type. Therefore, you may not see the result count drop below 100 on your first Search within the results shown query.
